Ian Weibel is the founder of Hazard Zero - a comprehensive inventory and food safety management system. Ian joined the Colorado SBDC TechSource Customer Discovery program fall 2025. Through this program, Ian learned effective pitch building, branding and marketing, and the value of customer discovery calls. He connected with subject matter experts within the Colorado SBDC network and with food industry partners.

"The support and direction I got from the Colorado SBDC and Ruth are what I attribute my new successes, without them I would still be stumbling in the dark of online marketing and would not have been pushed to pitch in front of investors.

There is Hazard Zero pamphlet, business card and bottle opener. They are varying colors of white, blue, dark blue and gray.

I validated my product and acquired a major client, which opened many more connections within the food industry. By leveraging the Colorado SBDC’s market research reports and industry growth projections, along with their pitch coaching, I successfully secured a runway of capital funding from investors. This capital enabled me to secure positions at trade shows recommended by the Colorado SBDC as high impact marketing opportunities."
